IDSA Tech Talk: Integration Test Camp – ensuring interoperability of IDS components

IDSA Tech Talk: Integration Test Camp - ensuring interoperability of IDS components

International Data Spaces are complex. Many components, such as Connectors, DAPS or Apps need to interact correctly to be reliable and robust. To verify these interactions, developers exercise the software within a specific test environment. The Integration Test Camp is a remotely accessible infrastructure developed by IDSA member SQS. It gives companies the opportunity to test the interoperability of pre-commercial IDSA components in a production-like scenario.

In the upcoming Tech Talk, Olatz Mediavilla, Senior QA & Test Engineer | Head Q‑IDSA Lab at SQS, and Natalia Simon, Project & Community Manager at IDSA, will outline the roadmap to a trusted IDS infrastructure.

Views on IDS: 'TRUSTS in the financial industry – enabling data sovereignty beyond existing solutions'

What does a data marketplace need to make participants feel safe when sharing personal and proprietary data? In one word: trust.

Experts from the TRUSTS project will present their efforts to set up a GDPR-compliant European Data Marketplace based on privacy, confidentiality and data sovereignty.

Alexandra Garatzogianni (L3S Research Center at Leibniz University Hannover), the coordinator of the project along with Gianna Avgousti (eBOS), Christos Roupas (Relational) and Benjamin Heitmann (Fraunhofer FIT) will introduce the goals of TRUSTS. The project aims to create a data sharing platform for personal and industrial use by interconnecting different user groups and providing generic functionalities for innovative applications and services.

The discussion will focus on how anti-money laundering works in TRUSTS and how the use of the IDS architecture will enable data sovereignty and data protection mechanisms. Finally, the panelists will approach the question of how the industry can take advantage of the project results.

The topics in a nutshell:

- TRUSTS use cases and the expertise within the project

- Anti-money laundering

– which mechanisms does TRUSTS apply, how does it work in the eBos environment

- Privacy, confidentiality, data sovereignty

– data protection aspects that are particularly important for the use cases

- Standardization – how data protection and data sovereignty mechanisms in TRUSTS are enabled through their anchoring in the IDS architecture

- View on business exploitation and sustainability

Manufacturing Resilience to succeed in the “next normal”

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on manufacturing is long term and far-reaching. It not only impacts the operations and financial stability of manufacturing companies but also their technology suppliers.

The post-pandemic world will see a new normal of manufacturers focused on remote capabilities in operations, product innovation, supply chain, and customer management.

That focus will drive significant investment in process automation, centralized asset monitoring and diagnostics, and cloud-based collaboration tools.

The goal will be to support resiliency in all aspects of the business, as well as resilient decision making.

During the IDC European Manufacturing Executive Digital Forum 2020 we will look into what “next normal” means to manufacturers, why the business case for digitalization is stronger than ever and how technology can demonstrate value to the business.

We look forward to connecting with you soon!

IoT Platform Conference @ ZVEI Conference Center
Dec 2 all-day

…starts with a keynote by IDSA on Data Sovereignty.

The German economy is on the threshold of the fourth industrial age. The mechanical and electrical engineering industries are shaping the ongoing digitization process more intensively than any other industrial sector: the mechanical industry as technology integrators and the electrical industry as an enabler of the new, digital industrial age.

Platform technology is regarded as a key technology in the networking of machines, the evolution of devices from simple to smart and the planning of intelligent production processes. In this way, the IoT platform will become a further interface between the two industrial sectors where technological and economic integration will be deepened. The member companies of the ZVEI will act as partners, customers and even as operators of digital platforms and will play a key role in driving the development of new business areas in the platform economy.

The need for information regarding the right IoT platform is particularly great, as choosing the right platform application has become a challenge in view of a large number of offers. A well-thought-out selection strategy is therefore even more important. What should be achieved with the IoT platform? Should the end devices or systems become more intelligent, or entire production processes? Does the company need both or even no IoT platform at all?

The one-day IoT Platform Conference on December 2nd, 2020, will give answers to these and other questions.

IDSA is very pleased that a keynote from CEO Lars Nagel will be the launch of this remarkable conference.
