IDSA Tech Talk: IDS Certification – creating trust, enabling business cases @ VIRTUAL
Certification plays a central role in the IDS in order to make the ecosystem secure and trustworthy.
Thus, certification of a company's operational environment and the used components IDS connectors, but also the other core components as e.g. Brokers is a prerequisite for participating in the IDS.

But what is the added value of having this certification? What options are there to get certified?
And how is the current status of establishing the certification process?

These and more questions will be discussed in the upcoming Tech Talk between Monika Huber from Fraunhofer AISEC, Head of the Working Group Certification in the IDSA, and Sebastian Steinbuss, the CTO at IDSA.

Big Data Value Forum: Towards a Strong European Data and AI Ecosystem @ Kosmos Berlin

The European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF) is the flagship event of the European Big Data and Data-Driven AI Research and Innovation community organized by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and the European Commission (DG CNECT) in close collaboration with local organizations. EBDVF2020 will take place in November in Berlin, Germany. EBDVF 2020 is organized in collaboration with DFKI, Plattform Industrie 4.0, Plattform Lernende Systeme, and Berlin Partner.

Special attention is paid to the Focus Track 1:  European Data Spaces – Main Session.

Our CEO Lars Nagel will discuss data governance, data usage, Federation of Data Spaces, and Scale AI in Europe together with further prominent speakers.

This track will bring together leading initiatives that are paving the way for what could become functional implementations of European-governed data sharing spaces. For Europe to compete at an international level, its smaller but highly diversified data producers need to join forces. The European Data Strategy outlines a roadmap to enable and realise data sharing spaces as a means to power up AI in Europe by increasing access to data. The longterm vision is for an initial number of sector-based data sharing spaces to interoperate. The need to comply with European values, ethics and legislation when handling data should not be considered restrictive, but as a safeguard for risk-free data sharing that encourage increased participation. In this track, we want to move beyond the ‘What’ and consider ‘How’ all this can be achieved through convergence and standardization efforts by projects, organisations and other entities possessing the right technical know-how, experiences and commitment.

Stay tuned for further information around EBDVF!

Manufacturing Resilience to succeed in the “next normal”

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on manufacturing is long term and far-reaching. It not only impacts the operations and financial stability of manufacturing companies but also their technology suppliers.

The post-pandemic world will see a new normal of manufacturers focused on remote capabilities in operations, product innovation, supply chain, and customer management.

That focus will drive significant investment in process automation, centralized asset monitoring and diagnostics, and cloud-based collaboration tools.

The goal will be to support resiliency in all aspects of the business, as well as resilient decision making.

During the IDC European Manufacturing Executive Digital Forum 2020 we will look into what “next normal” means to manufacturers, why the business case for digitalization is stronger than ever and how technology can demonstrate value to the business.

We look forward to connecting with you soon!
